A Map of Memories

Sometimes we frame artwork because it is pleasing to the eye, but quite often we frame something that has specific meaning and stories for our customers…

This project for Diane at our Bloomfield, MI store is a map of Cuba. Here is the story behind the map: “My father was born in Cuba in 1929 and came to the US in 1940. He passed away in 2012 never being able to return to Havana. My husband and I went to Cuba in March. Upon return, I found this map among my father’s paperwork and thought it would be great to frame it as a memento of our trip and my dad’s childhood.”

The map looks great framed with generous mat proportions, two French lines and a fillet for depth…but the memories and stories that will be shared when family members, friends and guests see the framed map go well beyond!
